Coney Island Cyclone

An Emotional Roller Coast at the Coney Island Cyclone

When the Coney Island Cyclone experienced a mechanical problem in late August, several riders were left stranded prompting a DoB inspection of the nearly 100-year-old wooden roller coaster.

The cause was determined to be a crack in an original element of the drivetrain. A Degree of Freedom was brought in to assist on repairs and to ensure that the replacement part machined in Italy met or exceeded the strength of the original.

The famed ride was able to open back up two weeks later after numerous testing cycles and inspections by DoB.
